The Senate Releases A Discussion Draft of the Health Care Bill

The Senate today released their version of the American Health Care Act, cited as the ‘Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017″. The bill would create a new system of federal tax credits to help people buy health insurance, would empower states to determine benefits, and would end the mandate in the Affordable Care Act that everyone buy insurance.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., expects the bill to come to the floor for a vote as early as next week, after the Congressional Budget Office provides their cost estimate.
